The cross country course in Clarksville, the site of Saturday's TMSAA State Championships, is known for its uneven terrain. Collierville's Gabe Bullock, Emery McGill, and Chandler Butler had been training for several months to prepare for this big day.

That training paid off. In the Class AA Boys Race, Collierville's Gabe Bullock lead the field at the start of the race and slowly built a gap between him and 2nd place to finish the race in 1st place, claiming the title of State Champion. In the 9 years of the TMSAA State Championships, the Dragons now has two State Champions, Will Skinner (2019) and Gabe Bullock (2023)!

The Lady Dragons also had a great race! Emery McGill finished 58th with a time of 14:30 and Chandler Butler finished 118th out of 149 competitors.

The season is not over just yet. The Dragons still have 3 races on the schedule, the Memphis Youth Athletics race #4 at Shelby Farms on Tuesday and then will be followed by the Tennessee State Regionals and Tennessee State Championships at Shelby Farms later this month.
