The Collierville Middle School Dragons Cross Country (XC) Team finished another successful season in 2019 that included both boys and girls teams qualifying to compete for a national championship for the 2nd time in team history!! We cannot wait to see what 2020 holds!
CMS Cross-Country runners compete in 2 mile distance races that typically take place on non-paved running paths. These outdoor competitors must overcome challenges that their track-bound counterparts don’t face.
The season starts in August with training starting this summer. Practices will run for 1 ½ hours 3 to 4 times a week. The team will face competition in various meets around the region, state and maybe even nationally.
If you have an athlete who will be attending Collierville Middle School in the fall of 2020 and wants to learn more about cross country, contact Coach Tammy Townsend at ttownsend@colliervilleschools.org.
