Collierville, TN – Collierville Middle School Principal Brett Heinrich has announced the hiring of Asa Johnson as the school’s new Head Girls’ Basketball Coach.
Coach Johnson brings more than 15 years of experience developing student-athletes at both the middle and high school levels in Memphis, Tennessee. Throughout his coaching career, he has played a key role in building successful programs and contributing to championship teams, including multiple TSSAA Middle School State Championships, Shelby County Freshman Championships, and a TSSAA High School Class 3A State Championship.
“Coach Johnson’s experience and proven success make him an outstanding addition to our program,” said Principal Brett Heinrich. “His commitment to student-athlete development and his passion for the game will have a positive impact on our girls’ basketball program and our school community.”
Johnson is highly skilled in designing effective practice plans, implementing offensive and defensive systems, analyzing game film, and organizing offseason training opportunities to maximize player growth and team success. His approach emphasizes fundamentals, preparation, and a commitment to excellence.
Beyond the court, Johnson is deeply passionate about mentoring student-athletes. He places a strong emphasis on discipline, teamwork, leadership, and academic success, while fostering meaningful relationships with players, parents, and the broader school community.
